Hi, If some one could please take the time to help me it would be much appreciated!
I turned my computer of one night before it was properly shut down. When i went to turn it on the next morning i had the error message-
Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
I had a quick search on microsoft and found that i had damaged the windows registry. They gave me step by step instructions to fix it myself. However when i use my windows XP cd to gain access into the recovery console to fix my computer, it asks for my administrator password. It keeps telling me its in correct and i cant gain access! I had a computer security software disc that i used to reset password, but this made no difference. I just keep getting told the password is incorrect!
Does anyone know a way to get around this so i can finally fix my windows registry?! I cant use safe mode on my computer as it wont let me. I use windows xp Media edition on a packard bell computer.
I know its a long one, thankyou!!

Its Registry cleaner allows you to scan, remove, and back up faulty Registry entries. And it even allows you you to defrag your registry to make your computer run at its best.
you can just have windows cd automatically repair windows by not selecting the first repair option but the second one, you continue passed the first repair option as if your going to install windows fresh and then select repair the second time it pops up and it will fix the problem.
