The problem is that all these standby stuff uses up part of you cpu and memory. Go into Preferences, Settings or Options in you programs and turn off the 'Start on Windows Startup' option. Most of these programs let you choose that options on installation (very easy to miss among all the installation screens). I think some of them don't even give you a chance to turn the option off once it's installed that way. Though you may delete files, they aren't really 'deleted' off the computer until they are overwritten and can sometimes stay for long periods of time. Go to the link below and download the program. Once it's up, run the search. When the search is complete, click 'Other' and then 'Delete'. This should help wipe your harddrive. Also, you can use this utility to restore something you've deleted.
