…using another partition on the same computer?
I have to version of windows installed on my computer. One version is Professional and it is working, but there is very little memory on this hard disk, the other side of my hard disk has more memory so I’m wondering if, while using this side of my hard disk I can repair the other sides registry corruption.
As you can see, I don’t know the computer lingo that well, but I hope someone on here understands what I mean.
Yes, use windows restore. That will bring back a good copy of the registry.
1. click the start button(windows button bottom left hand corner)
2. click programs/program files
3. click accessories
4. click system tools
5. click system restore
6. select a date that you know your computer worked fine…like maybe 2 weeks ago. You will not lose any new files or data.
Boot to the Pro partition and perform the steps in this link on the other partition.

You won’t need to boot to the recovery console since you can still boot to the Pro partition. Make sure …. Make real sure… that you don’t do this to the partition you are booted to.
So… when it says "C:\" you should put "D:\" or whatever drive letter your other partition is labelled.
This is a very detailed procedure. Be sure to read through it first so you understand what to do.

Hi there
Hopefully you’ve followed some of the advice you’ve already been given and your registry is now repaired.
There are several things you can do, but you should be able to run a scan of your registry on the other side and see what the problems are. They could be easy to fix yourself by following some of the other advice that you’ve been given, or there are programmes you can run to fix it yourself. I scanned my registry using the link in the website below (my registry was ok!).
Hope that helps.
