This quy promotes PC Pitstop program that cleans the registry what a hypocrite. Registry cleaner do make the pc’s run faster. I have no idea about what the other noob what talking about reinstalling windows every 3 months this video is full of loss.You can backup the registry before deleting any registry keys and see the results for yourself.I don’t know anyone who has the time to reinstall windows with all there windows every 3 months what an asinine comment!!!!!!

What about someone like me doing PC repair/support since 1989? I’ve had clients hire me after they had run “cleaner” apps, incl ccleaner, that removed critical files and reg entries their PC actually needed. Half their programs stopped running. I was able to repair most of the issues w/o reinstalling windows, but docs deleted from the CSC folder (where offline-synched files are cached) were unretrievable using unerase programs (overwritten “deleted” blocks). So thanks CCleaner, I need the work!

Because it’s easier for them to say that than it is to explain how most of these mainanence programs work. I can’t believe you included employees from Geek Squad. LOL! The guy that tried to fix my mothers computer was an idiot. I had to do it for her. Best Buy rejects. Besides there are many areas of computing so just because you have a degree doesn’t mean you specialize with these types of software. Experience over training.

Sorry Chris but Windows has to access the registry constantly and the less it has to sift through, the faster it is. Sounds like a lot of noob talk since you don’t even seem to know what a registry is used for. Also who in the heck reformats these days? Any knowledgable PC buff will tell you to use a drive image like Acronis.

they do speed up ur pc but it depends. ccleaner, auslogics, and tuneup are the best. regcure, regclean, registry easy, and regmedic are rouges or PUPs. Potentially unwanted programs.

They obviosuly do or else why would they make and promote them, seriously be realistic.
Take a look at my videos for a Registry Cleaner that backs everything up incase something does go wrong.
I personally bought a Registry Cleaner for my laptop, works wondering. It found 393 errors on my 3 week old laptop.

I used the Auslogics one on my HP DV5 and I lost the ability to create recovery disks and I had to reformat my Vista to get it back! I agree with Chris Pirillo: Don’t use that kind of software… EVER!

Tuneup Utilities 2009 and Auslogics Boost Speed 4.4 do a excellent job with repairing and cleaning the registry. It improved my boot speed drastically and speed up mu PC since I had OVER 9000 errors in the registry. And that’s not a joke… I rely had more then 9000 in total.
