Can someone tell me where to find a free registry repair program? Hoping to find one that does more than scan and then want to charge an arm and a leg for the download-any help appreciated-thanks!
There are no "registry repair" programs. Those that claim to be, are scams, and some are even dangerous because they can cause harm to the registry.
There are registry cleaners, which delete old obsolete entries. They are of marginal value, at best. I use one, maybe once a year, because I download, test, and then uninstall a lot of programs. This removal is what causes old obsolete entries in the registry, because many programs don’t clean up behind themselves very well during uninstall.
I have used CCleaner in the past. It’s a grrrrrreat program for the cleaner function, but the registry cleaner portion caused minor settings changes, more of an annoyance than a problem. I’ve been using Eusing Registry Cleaner for years & it’s very good.
It’s free at:

use tune up utilities 2010. it is the best software i have come across till date.you would want the free link. here’s the link. Just use it and its one-click maintenance is the best. It will solve all your registry problems in seconds.
