How can I tell if something has been "recently" added to my windows registry?

This is for the purpose of removing Adware.Admass malicious spyware.
Also I would like to do some research online and learn how to work on the registry safely.
windows registry does not keep track of date and time of entry (as far as I know — though, maybe that info is hidden somewhere). So, the only way to know what has been added recently is to keep a running backup and compare (though, again, I’m not sure how to go about comparing registries).
So, the best way to keep spyware and adware out is to get a good anti-spyware app.
The safest way to work on the Registry is also, backup, backup, backup.

Sometimes the jargon and "shop talk" gets a little deep, but you’ll soon learn it and get to know your PC on a whole other level!
As far as a direct answer to your question, I don’t know of a way to determine a recent addition or change to your registry. As for virus protection, after you get the adware removed, get AVG Free version. It’s pretty decent and it’s free! The college near where I live uses it!
