How to fix windows registry?

What are some good freeware to clean and fix windows registry? Also, what are some good anti-virus available? Help please!

I would recommend that if you want some good Anti-virus or Registry cleaner, go to www.filehippo.com

Download CCleaner, here’s a link: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ (This program will clean up any excess files on your computer, including Windows History Cleaner Browser History Cleaner Application History Cleaner Cookies Cleaner), also it is possible to mess up your registry when using any program like this, but that’s why they all allow you to create a backup file of the registry files you are deleting. If something go wrong you can just open up the file you saved, and it will reinstall all the registry files it removed.(At least that’s how it works with Ccleaner)

However for anti-virus i wouldn’t recommend going for the free stuff, go to staples or best buy and buy Norton 360. Its only 40 bucks at staples right know. Trust me

    Cleaning your registry is a good idea and as the other answer states ccleaner is a good program. However, if you are not sure what you are doing then I wouldnt recommend using it as deleting the wrong registry key can really cause you problems. I would recommend you use oncarelive clean-up tool. It’s an online scan and clean up of your registry and offered by microsoft. I use ccleaner and onecarelive and each find issues the othere didnt find. Just be very careful if you use ccleaner.

    it’s easy to fix registry by using a professional registry optimizer, i recommend Wondershare registry optimizer to you.before you scan and fix registry, you can back up first with it. at the same time, it won’t do harm to your computer. so you need to worry about computer collapse. if you know little about registry, it’s better to you to rely on a safe and stable registry optimizer.
