Using the windows registry Editor, you can remove computer programs and possibly viruses that automatically startup when Windows starts.

To Start the Registry Editor, do the following
Start Button then Type “regedit” (minus the quotation marks) in the “Search programs and files” field.

In the Registry Editor, go to the following:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

In the right side of the Registry Editor, you can remove any program so it doesn’t automatically startup when the current user logs into Windows.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

In the right side of the Registry Editor, you can remove any program so it doesn’t automatically startup when the computer starts up.

  6. @MrMario323 there …
@MrMario323 there is a possibility that you have a virus that is doing that to your system. The one idea I have is to reboot the computer into Safe Mode and then checking out the Register to see if programs are getting started up that contain a virus. To enter Safe Mode, restart the computer and hit one of the following during the bootup screen (F1) (F2) or (F8). The correct key will be displayed…you just need to look quickly…or search google to learn how to start safe mode. Good Luck!

@AzianguyxD Another way to get rid of programs that are already running is to hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and run Task Manager. If that xfire program is listed under the Program Tab, right-click it and End Task. If its not listed there, Click on the Processes Tab, find the xfire exe process, right-click and End Process. Then you can go to the Program Files folder and Delete the Program. This should then work because you will have Exited the program using this steps. Good Luck!

  16. Well, I don’t know …
Well, I don’t know why you’re asking me. First off, if you don’t know what a program is or does, then you shouldn’t have installed it.

I’m only gonna tell you 2 things to look in and then you’re on your own from then.

First, go the the start button, then all programs, and see if that program is listed there with an un-install program.

Secondly, go to C:\Program Files\ and see if the program is in that folder, if it is located in there, delete the folder.

Thats all the advice I can give you.
