What happens if the Windows registry is corrupted?

Will reformatting fix the windows registry if it gets corrupted? How will I know if it’s corrupted?

run some reliable program such as intel software partner to check out for registry errors

    That is a big problem. You will have to consult a Computer Repair Technician for more detailed info, but to be pretty blunt, if your registry is corrupted, than your computer will have some very troublesome issues, which can’t be fixed unless you re-install Windows….
    Sorry for the disappointing answer, but I would highly recommend going to a Repair Technician to figure out how to fix it.

    There is a free thing to fix all that up. It can cause a lot of bad things, the registry goes as far as disk drive! Sadly, I can’t find it. So here is one that looks safe.
